This issue is bringing you something different...

As you may know, if you follow Wicca Spirituality on Facebook or Twitter, I recently lost my dad, and this launched me into an unexpected, powerful time of grieving and transformation. This resulted in my stepping back for a while from my ordinary work and activities. I've surrendered to this process of deep inner change.

This is what I've been completely focused on. So much so, that even on FB and Twitter, instead of the usual kind of posts, I've been sharing the insights and experiences of this Transformation.

So when it came time to put out this issue of the Silver Chalice, I was in a quandary. I can't leave this transformative Cauldron before I'm fully cooked, so to speak, to write the usual 'Zine content. And it feels even more important than usual to me, right now, to be authentic — to not write in my usual perkiness when that's not at all where I am.

So what to do for this 'Zine? I asked the Goddess, and She gave me a wonderful solution.

I was inspired to introduce a fairly unknown Goddess (Goddesses are always popular fare), who is all about these times when everything falls apart — Akhilandeshvari, the Goddess Never-Not-Broken.

This is a very timely introduction, too , as the world we've known undergoes massive changes on every level.

So this issue, I'm offering three articles on this amazing Goddess. I hope you enjoy meeting Her as much as I have.

P.S. I apologise for the tardy delivery — unexpected events in my day job caused an unavoidable delay. wicca-spirituality-winking_witch

I want to introduce you to a Deity whom you may know better than you wish— Akhilandeshvari: the Goddess Never-Not-Broken.

You might not have heard Her name before, because She represents the kind of things that people shy away from.

She's been pushed into the cracks and crevices of life for the past few hundred years or so, but She's back!

And She embodies the cataclysmic, exhilarating, transformative process that the Earth -- and we individuals -- are going through right now.

And She holds the keys for getting through it successfully…

Akhilandeshvari — Symbols and Surprises

There is very little information on Akhilandeshvari, the Goddess Never-Not-Broken.

She's the kind of Goddess most people prefer to avoid.

We can't talk about Her influence on us during polite conversation, and you don't tell people you're on intimate terms with (if you are).

We meet Her in our grief, in the aftermath of trauma and catastrophe — and our interactions are so personal, we rarely speak of them.

So perhaps it's not surprising that there is not a lot of details available on this elusive Goddess.

Recently, I've been spending a lot of time with Akhilandeshvari. Since I haven't been able to find out the facts from other sources, I've been forced to go to the original Source and ask Her about Herself.

So I'd like to share with you what I have experienced in my work with Her — the insights She has graced me with...

The Goddess Akhilandeshvari: Matron Goddess of the Shift of Ages

The Goddess Akhilandeshvari (Never-Not-Broken) is the consummate Goddess for this stage in history -- the Shift of Ages that is heralded by the year 2012 -- and befriending Her is pivotal to the work we are Called upon to do now.

Everything is breaking down these days: structures, lies, self-deception, selfishness, the entire patriarchal paradigm, even the ego.

Everything is broken, and we're standing here with all these pieces in our hands, wondering how we'll ever make something whole and beautiful out of this mess. Wondering, even, if we can survive it -- or if we want to survive it.

That is the secret wisdom that The Goddess Akhilandeshvari is here to teach us!...
